What the option does
Designed to exhaust
attic air.
A solar panel powers the fan when sunlight and operating conditions allow. Available Remington Solar models include automatic temperature and humidity controls.
Compatible hybrid options can use household electricity when solar power is insufficient. The selected model, accessories and any electrical work are included only when listed in your written quote.
This is a separately priced upgrade. It is not included in a standard roofing package.

before recommending a fan.
A powered exhaust fan needs more than a place on the roof. The attic, intake and roof-system details all matter.
The space being ventilated
We review attic size and layout, existing ventilation and whether the attic is vented, sealed or conditioned.
A suitable supply of air
Available intake ventilation and clear air paths must suit the proposed exhaust fan. A fan does not replace an intake-ventilation plan.
Ceiling and equipment review
Ceiling air leaks and any fuel-burning equipment need attention. Exhaust can draw indoor air into the attic and may create combustion-safety concerns.
Profile, pitch and flashing
We confirm the roof profile, pitch, flashing materials and roof-system requirements before selecting an installation detail.
Solar exposure and controls
Sunlight, shading and the selected fan’s controls affect operation. Any hybrid power adapter or electrical connection is specified separately.

Is a solar fan included with my roof?
No. Remington Solar attic ventilation is optional, subject to suitability review and quoted at additional cost.
Will it run at night or in cloudy weather?
Solar operation depends on available sunlight and the model’s controls. A compatible hybrid adapter can use household electricity when solar is insufficient. Model compatibility, accessories and electrical work must be included in the proposal.
Can it be installed on an Interlock roof?
Ask us to evaluate the specific roof. An Interlock installation requires confirmation of roof-system approval, suitable flashing and materials, and warranty requirements. This page does not represent blanket approval for every Interlock roof or fan model.
Will it lower my electric bill?
We do not promise energy savings. Results depend on climate, insulation, ceiling air sealing, intake ventilation, solar exposure and the rest of the home.
Which model and warranty will I get?
The selected model and applicable manufacturer warranty are identified in the written proposal. Specifications, accessories and warranty terms vary; review the exact product information before ordering.
