We completed this exterior renovation on a home in Cary, North Carolina 27513. The work included a Black Interlock Slate aluminum roof, Everlast composite siding, and all-new thermal replacement windows.

Before: Aging Asphalt Roof and Exterior

Before we started, the house had an aging asphalt-shingle roof, tan siding, and the original-style windows. The front roof has two dormers, a chimney on the left side, and a lower porch roof tied into the main roof. Those details all have to be handled correctly when installing an Interlock roof.

After: Black Interlock Slate in Cary

We installed Black Interlock Slate across the main roof, dormers, front gable, porch roof, and around the chimney. The black slate profile gives the house a sharper look, while the new blue Everlast composite siding and white trim completely change the exterior.

We also installed new thermal replacement windows throughout the home. The black shutters, white window trim, blue siding, and black roof were chosen to work together instead of looking like separate projects completed at different times.

What We Installed on This Cary Home

This was more than a roof replacement. We handled the roof, siding, and windows as one exterior project. That allowed us to coordinate the trim and transitions around the dormers, windows, chimney, eaves, and front entry instead of trying to match work done by several different contractors.

Black Interlock Slate Roof

Interlock Slate is an aluminum roofing system with concealed fasteners and interlocking shingles. It gives the home the appearance of a slate roof without the weight of quarried stone. Because it is aluminum, it will not rust.

On this house, the dormers and front porch roof make the layout more involved than a plain up-and-over roof. We had to keep the courses straight across the visible front slopes and finish the valleys, sidewalls, chimney, ridge, and roof edges so the entire roof reads as one system.

Everlast Composite Siding

The old tan siding was replaced with blue Everlast composite siding. The new siding changed the character of the house and created a strong contrast with the white trim and Black Interlock Slate roof.

Everlast is a solid composite siding product rather than thin vinyl siding. We install it for homeowners who want a more substantial exterior product and do not want the maintenance that comes with traditional wood siding.

Thermal Replacement Windows

We replaced the windows as part of the same exterior renovation. Installing the windows while the siding work was underway allowed us to finish the openings and exterior trim cleanly before completing the surrounding siding.

Why Show the Actual Before-and-After Photos?

These are photographs of the actual Cary installation—not a rendering, stock photo, or manufacturer display. The matching front views show exactly what changed: the asphalt roof became Black Interlock Slate, the tan siding became blue Everlast composite siding, and the windows were replaced.

We do not publish the homeowner’s street address. The Cary ZIP code provides useful local proof while protecting the customer’s privacy.

Considering an Interlock Roof in Cary?

Interlock is a premium roofing system and costs more upfront than a standard asphalt-shingle replacement. It is best suited to homeowners who want a long-term roof, concealed fasteners, aluminum construction, and a finished appearance that is different from standing seam or exposed-fastener metal panels.

We inspect the roof before pricing the work. Roof size is only part of the cost. Pitch, dormers, valleys, chimneys, roof-to-wall areas, existing materials, decking, access, flashing, and trim all affect the scope.

Cary Metal Roofing Questions

Does Metal Roof NC install complete roofs or make repairs?

We handle complete roof installations and full roof replacements. We do not provide repair-only service.

Will an aluminum Interlock roof rust?

No. Aluminum does not rust like exposed steel. The full roofing system still has to be installed correctly, including underlayment, flashing, valleys, ridges, and penetrations.

Can you replace siding and windows with the roof?

Yes. This Cary project is an example of a home where we completed the Interlock roof, Everlast composite siding, and thermal replacement windows as one coordinated exterior renovation.
